Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State electricity company PT PLN will impose alternating two-week power cuts in Jakarta and environs starting July 11 as pipelines supplying gas to its Muara Karang and Tanjung Priok thermal power plants would undergo repairs.
"We apologize for the power cuts but the gas pipelines need so repairs," PT PLN spokesman Azwar Lubis said on Friday.
The alternating power cuts would mean a reducation in power supply of an average of 150 megawatts per day, he said.
He said BP West Java as the operator of the gas pipelines had pledged to speed up the repair work so that the duration of alternating power cuts would be shorter than expected.
